Delete your account & data
This page explains how to delete your account and associated data in Merchant Center for Google (also shown as Merchant Manager), the app for managing Google Merchant Center developed by M23N (m23n) and available on the Apple App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android).
The app has no separate username or password: your “account” is the Google account(s) you connect (and on iOS, optionally your Sign in with Apple identity), plus the data the app and its service providers keep for you. You can delete it directly in the app or, if you no longer have the app, by e-mail.
1. Delete in the app
- Open Merchant Center for Google.
- Go to Settings and tap Delete account and data.
- Confirm. The app returns to the sign-in screen when deletion is complete.
Deleting your data or the app does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it on iOS in Settings → your name → Subscriptions, or in Google Play (Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions).
2. Request deletion without the app
If you have uninstalled the app or cannot open it, e-mail support@merchantcenter.app with the subject “Merchant Center for Google: delete my account and data”. Send it from the e-mail address of the Google account you connected, or include that address in the message, and add the anonymous identifier from the app’s settings if you have it. We may ask you to confirm the request from that address. We complete requests within 30 days and confirm by e-mail. You can also revoke the app’s access to your Google account yourself at any time on your Google Account’s third-party access page.
3. What is deleted
- Google access: the app’s access to every connected Google account is revoked with Google, sign-in tokens are removed from the device and the list of connected accounts is cleared.
- Uploaded product photos: the photos you uploaded to our Firebase Cloud Storage bucket are deleted. Product image links in your Merchant Center that point to them will stop working, so replace them if the products are still live.
- Analytics identity: your Mixpanel profile is deleted and your analytics identity is reset. On request we also ask Mixpanel to delete the analytics events stored for your anonymous identifier.
- Sign in with Apple (iOS): the Apple identity stored in the Keychain is removed.
- Local data: everything the app stores on your device is wiped, including cached Merchant Center data, the selected merchant account, onboarding answers and pending notifications.
4. What is retained, and for how long
- Your Merchant Center: product edits you made in the app stay in your Merchant Center account, because they belong to your account at Google, not to the app. This includes the supplemental data source “Merchant Manager (app edits)” if the app created one; remove it in Merchant Center (Settings → Data sources) if you no longer want it.
- Subscription records: purchase and billing records are held by Apple, Google Play and RevenueCat for as long as they need them for billing, tax, fraud prevention and legal obligations, under their own policies. The anonymous identifier is kept on the device so that an active subscription keeps working.
- Analytics & crash data: pseudonymous usage events (never containing your catalogue content) are kept according to our retention settings: up to 14 months in Firebase Analytics, 90 days for crash reports and no longer than five years in Mixpanel, unless you ask us to delete them earlier.
- Support e-mails: correspondence, including your deletion request, may be kept for up to two years to show that the request was handled, then deleted.
- Backups: data deleted on request may persist in our service providers’ backups for a limited period (typically up to 30 days) before it is overwritten.
