Google Merchant Center Price Mismatch: Causes and How to Fix It

Updated October 31, 2026 · By the Merchant Center for Google team

“Price mismatch” means the price in your product data does not match the price Google finds on your landing page. Google disapproves the product because shoppers would see one price on Google and another in your store.

Why it happens

How to fix it

  1. Open the affected product and compare the price (and sale_price) in Merchant Center with the price on the product URL, for the same variant and country.
  2. Correct whichever side is wrong. If the website is right, update the feed or override the price with a supplemental source.
  3. Make sure the price is in the page’s structured data (schema.org/Offer), which helps Google read it accurately.
  4. Fetch the feed more often or switch to API updates if your prices change frequently.
  5. Wait for the re-crawl. Fixed products usually return within a day.

Automatic item updates

Merchant Center can update price and availability automatically from your structured data when it detects a mismatch. It reduces disapprovals, but it is a safety net, not a replacement for an accurate feed.

Fix prices from your phone

In Merchant Center for Google, open the product with the “Price mismatch” issue, see the feed price next to the issue description and tap Edit to correct the price or sale price. The change is written to your Merchant Center through the official Merchant API.

Frequently asked questions

Does Google check the price with or without tax?

It depends on the country. In the US and Canada prices are submitted without tax; in most other countries, including the EU and UK, prices must include VAT, matching what shoppers see on the page.

How do I show a sale price on Google Shopping?

Keep the regular price in price and submit the discounted price in sale_price, optionally with sale_price_effective_date. The landing page must show the same sale price.

Why do I still get price mismatch after fixing the feed?

Google may still be seeing a cached or location-converted page, or a different variant. Check the exact URL in the feed, the default variant and any currency switcher.
